Since 1991, the 16 days of activism against Gender Based Violence campaign has taken place every year, starting on November 25th, on the day of Elimination of Violence Against Women, and ending on Human Rights Day on December 10th. The Centre for Women’s Global Leadership has coordinated this global event since it began in 1991. Since 2004 the GBV Prevention Network has been leading regional organizing with members through the Action and Advocacy Kits.
Acknowledge. Heal. Reimagine
The 2022 16 Days of Activism Campaign invites us to reflect on and Acknowledge our innermost feelings of trauma, loss and sadness, with ourselves, our family, friends, and communities. Heal through acceptance, rest, connection with others, and linking with our natural environments. Allowing ourselves time to reset will restore our strength and creativity. Reimagine a new feminist vision as individual activists, organizations, and movements, that considers the losses and lessons from COVID-19.
